EG Group exits French market with planned business divestment

Company agrees to sell its operating business to EG On The Move as part of a phased withdrawal from France.

EG Group has announced plans to divest its French operating business to EG On The Move, the company owned by Zuber Issa, marking a significant step in its strategic withdrawal from the French market. The agreement follows a series of transactions aimed at reducing the Group’s footprint in France.

The move builds on EG Group’s earlier divestments, which began with the sale of its Vitry fuel depot completed in December 2025. The company has also signed agreements to sell a number of sites, mainly in the Paris metropolitan area, to property developers for non‑fuel commercial use. These asset sales are expected to conclude over the next year.

Russ Colaco, CEO of EG Group, said: “By strategically reshaping our European footprint, we are bringing additional focus to our core markets where we have identified the most attractive organic growth opportunities.”

The latest transaction will be submitted to employees’ representative bodies, in line with French labor regulations. Completion is subject to customary regulatory approvals, with closing anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.

EG Group said the divestment program aligns with its ongoing efforts to streamline operations, focus on core growth markets and reinforce its balance sheet.
