Emart24 targets 50 forecourt shops in Cambodia
The Korean convenience chain opened its first gas station outlet with BVM Petroleum in Phnom Penh, holding exclusive rights to operate across the local fuel retailer's network.
South Korean convenience chain Emart24 opened its first gas station store in Cambodia and plans to grow the format to 50 locations.
The outlet is the first result of the retailer’s partnership with BVM Petroleum, as reported by Seoul Economic Daily, and is located at a station near National Road 2 in southern Phnom Penh, covering nearly 200 m². In July, Emart24 signed a memorandum of understanding with the local energy company, which gives it exclusive rights to operate shops in BVM's fuel station network.
The first location sells Korean food such as tteokbokki and hot dogs, along with drinks and snacks. Two more forecourt sites are planned before the end of the year.
Emart24 entered Cambodia in June 2024 as the first South Korean convenience store brand in the country. It started around Phnom Penh and later expanded to provincial cities such as Sihanoukville, Siem Reap and Battambang. The chain now runs 42 stores and aims to reach 70 by the end of 2026.
