Emart24 accelerates Cambodia expansion, reaches 31 stores
The South Korean convenience retailer reported a 41% increase in average daily sales as it expands beyond Phnom Penh and targets more than 70 locations by year-end.
Emart24 has grown its presence in Cambodia to 31 stores within two years of entering the market, while average daily sales per store have increased by 41% compared with 2024.
The South Korean convenience store chain entered Cambodia in 2024 through a master franchise agreement with local joint venture Saihan Partners, becoming the first Korean convenience store operator to establish a presence in the country.
Emart24 now plans to expand its Cambodian network to more than 70 stores by the end of the year, significantly accelerating its original growth strategy. Construction is currently underway on 20 additional outlets, as reported by Seoul Economic Daily.
The strong sales performance has prompted the retailer to revise its long-term ambitions for the market. When it entered Cambodia, the company targeted 100 stores over five years. Based on current growth prospects, it has increased that goal to 200 stores and plans to speed up future openings.
Expansion is also moving beyond the capital city. While the initial focus was on Phnom Penh, the company is increasing its footprint in other urban centers, including Siem Reap and Battambang.
