EnBW establishes new fast-charging hub in Bavaria
16 high-power charging points are now operational near the A9 in Marktschorgast, with plans to expand to 24.
German energy company EnBW has officially opened a new fast-charging park in Marktschorgast, Bavaria, located in close proximity to the A9 motorway.
The new facility features 16 high-power charging (HPC) points under a protective canopy and is designed to scale up to 24 chargers as needed. These HPC stations can deliver up to 400 kilowatts, allowing vehicles equipped for such performance to gain up to 400 kilometers of range in just a 15-minute charge.
The solar panels feed renewable energy directly into the station’s grid, supporting the company’s commitment to 100% green electricity at all its charging sites.
"EV drivers on long-distance trips can now take a break and recharge in Marktschorgast. This new location fits perfectly into our expansion strategy: we bring EnBW fast-charging to where people need it in their everyday lives," said Volker Rimpler, Chief Technology Officer for E-Mobility at EnBW.
Currently, the firm operates over 6,000 fast-charging points across Germany, with plans to more than triple its fast-charging capacity over the next five years.
By 2030, EnBW aims to provide more than 20,000 fast-charging points that can be used simultaneously across the country, forming a reliable network accessible to all EV drivers in Germany.
