Fastned has launched a new ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Greenock, strengthening its charging infrastructure along Scotland’s west coast.

The Greenock hub features four ultra-rapid charging bays powered by 100% renewable energy and has the capacity to expand to eight in the future. This has become Fastned’s 33rd location in the UK and its third in western Scotland, bringing the company’s total in the country to five.

“We’re delighted to open our fifth charging hub in Scotland and provide much-needed charging in an area with a low number of ultra-rapid chargers. Watch this space—there’s much more to come,” said Tom Hurst, Fastned UK Country Director.

The Greenock site includes the company’s signature solar canopy, designed to help drivers easily locate the station and stay dry while charging.
