Fastned forays into Spain with two new charging stations in Barcelona
The company has partnered with Autopistas to establish a charging network of 16 charging points across the province’s main roads.
Fastned is officially entering its ninth country through an agreement with Autopistas, a subsidiary of the Abertis Group, to establish a fast-charging network for electric vehicles (EVs) in Barcelona.
The first stations will be located along high-capacity roads managed by Autopistas. The project plans to set up 16 fast chargers between the two locations with a power of up to 400 kW, featuring the company's yellow canopies equipped with solar panels to ensure 100% renewable energy.
"Our goal is to build stations that offer drivers reliable fast charging services, transforming the electric vehicle driving experience. We are therefore very pleased with the agreement we have signed with Abertis, which in addition to this project in El Garraf encompasses a wider collaboration with more future projects," said Inma Cima, Fastned Country Manager in Spain.
In addition to the current sites being built in Barcelona, there is one more location planned for the province as well as six more charging sites set to be established near Madrid.
Spain adds to Fastned’s presence across European countries, continuing the company's goal of building 1,000 stations across the continent.
