Fieten Olie to invest in H2 trucks
The three companies in the Netherlands are set to invest in six MAN trucks powered by hydrogen, which will be able to refuel at the retailer's Steenwijk H2 station.
Fieten Olie is joining Zuidema Groep and Roelofs to invest in hydrogen (H2) transportation across the Netherlands through MAN trucks.
H2 is expected to be available for refueling at Fieten’s station in Steenwijk, located at Bedrijvenpark Eeserwold, in early 2026. The three companies active in the northeastern Netherlands will invest in six vehicles from the truck manufacturer that will run on hydrogen.
All three companies are expected to have two of these MAN trucks by early 2026, delivered through the Roordink commercial vehicle center in Zwolle.
“Our filling station at Eeserwold is fully prepared for this. We submitted the permit application for this on time and are looking forward to the future with confidence, especially with the energy hub nearby,” said Richard Fieten, General Manager of Fieten Olie.
A SWIM subsidy has been applied for the purchase of the truck, a grant from the central government to boost the development of hydrogen refueling stations and hydrogen vehicles in the Netherlands.
The hydrogen trucks will be available in the third quarter of 2025.
