Love’s reopens travel stop in Stroud, Oklahoma
Newly expanded site on I-44 adds upgraded amenities, improved access and a future truck care center.
Love’s Travel Stops has reopened its location on the Turner Turnpike in Stroud, Oklahoma, following a full demolition and rebuild of the site along the westbound lanes of I-44. The redesigned travel stop now features expanded facilities and new amenities aimed at improving services for travelers moving between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The rebuilt site offers improved access from the interstate, with a right-hand exit designed to ease entry for drivers. It will also become the first Oklahoma turnpike location to include a Love’s Truck Care facility, scheduled to open in early 2026.
Joe Echelle, executive director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, said the reopening adds important services to a key stretch of the turnpike. “Having this stop at the midpoint between the state’s two largest metro areas is a significant convenience to motorists,” he said, noting that the forthcoming truck care center is expected to support faster response times for commercial drivers.
The new building includes updated foodservice options such as McDonald’s, Godfather’s Pizza and Love’s Fresh Kitchen, which prepares salads, sandwiches and other items on site. Larger restrooms, additional showers, expanded truck parking, RV amenities and a dog park have also been added as part of the reconstruction.
To mark the reopening, Love’s is donating $5,000 to the Stroud Food Pantry and another $5,000 to the Oklahoma Children’s Health Foundation.
