Love’s welcomes first Whataburger at new San Antonio travel stop
New foodservice partnership debut anchors Love’s latest Texas location along I‑410.
Love’s Travel Stops has opened its first location featuring a Whataburger site, marking a new foodservice partnership for the travel stop operator as it expands its footprint in Texas.
The Whataburger restaurant is set to open May 4 at Love’s newest travel stop in San Antonio, located off Interstate 410 on Southton Road. The site is the travel stop operator’s second location in the city and its 83rd location in Texas.
The restaurant will offer Whataburger’s core menu, including breakfast items such as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, as well as burgers, shakes, and other made‑to‑order offerings served throughout the day.
The San Antonio travel stop includes 70 truck parking spaces and free parking for professional drivers, contributing to the brand’s ongoing efforts to expand truck parking capacity nationwide. The company said it has added more than 500 truck parking spaces across the U.S. so far this year.
In addition to foodservice, the location offers a range of amenities typical of Love’s newer travel stops, including self‑checkout options, seven showers, laundry facilities, a dog park, RV dump services, and a CAT Scale. The site also supports Love’s fresh food program and its loyalty platform, Love’s Rewards.
The travel stop was developed with future infrastructure in mind, with space allocated for potential electric vehicle charging installations if customer demand emerges through partnerships with local utilities.
To mark the opening, Love’s is donating $5,000 each to the East Central High School Band and Christus Children’s Hospital as part of its community engagement efforts.
