MCS launches first Qwik24 smart store in Germany
Container-based concept delivers round-the-clock convenience without the need for staff.
MCS, in partnership with BK Benzin-Kontor AG, has officially launched the first Qwik24 smart store at an unmanned filling station in Bruckmühl, Germany.
This marks a significant step forward in the evolution of service at unattended sites, merging retail technology with a strong focus on customer convenience. The container shop, developed by Kesseböhmer Retailsolutions, offers a compact yet tailored range of convenience products, including a selection of regional items.
Transactions are carried out through a self-checkout terminal provided by fillibri, seamlessly integrated with a Huth point-of-sale system.
At the Bruckmühl location, the product selection is adapted to meet the needs of local customers, ranging from snacks and drinks to tobacco and non-food items. This site-specific assortment reflects Qwik24’s flexible approach to retail, aiming to align with the preferences of each individual location rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
With its distinctive visual identity, the Bruckmühl store also serves as a pilot for Qwik24’s broader strategy to roll out similar installations at other locations. The experience gained from this initial launch is expected to inform future developments and help refine the concept as it expands.
