Mercedes-Benz Trucks adds parking search to Remote App in Germany
New feature provides real-time parking availability information, helping drivers locate truck parking spaces and plan stops more efficiently across the country.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has expanded its Truck Remote App with a new parking search feature designed to help long-haul drivers find available truck parking spaces more easily. The service will be available from the end of August and aims to address one of the most persistent challenges facing road freight transport: the shortage of truck parking capacity.
The new functionality allows drivers to view parking occupancy levels and available capacity in advance, enabling them to plan rest stops more effectively and reduce the time spent searching for parking during their journeys.
“With the new parking feature, we are enhancing the Mercedes-Benz Truck Remote App with a service that delivers tangible value in drivers’ daily operations,” said Stina Fagerman, Head of Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks. “Finding available truck parking spaces is a constant challenge, especially in long-haul transport.”
At launch, the feature will cover public truck parking facilities across Germany. The system uses data generated through infrastructure and toll collection networks to estimate parking availability by combining truck location information with parking facility capacity data. Around 2,000 public parking areas along Germany’s federal motorway network are already integrated into the service.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks said the rollout will gradually expand beyond Germany, with Austria currently being added and other European markets planned for future integration.
