MFG EV Power enables Plug&Charge across UK network
Hubject integration brings seamless charging to 2,000 rapid and ultra‑rapid points nationwide.
Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has rolled out Plug&Charge functionality across its EV Power network, enabling automatic charging authentication at around 2,000 rapid and ultra‑rapid charging points throughout the UK.
The capability, which went live on May 1, allows compatible electric vehicles (EVs) to start charging immediately upon connection, without requiring apps, RFID cards or manual payment input. The rollout represents one of the largest single activations of Plug&Charge technology in the UK market to date.
MFG EV Power operates the country’s largest rapid and ultra‑rapid charging network by number of charge points, spanning more than 500 sites with capacities ranging from 50 kW to 400 kW. The deployment is part of a broader strategy backed by more than £400 million in investment, with a target of installing over 3,000 ultra‑rapid chargers across the network by 2030.
“At MFG, we are committed to making the transition to electric vehicles straightforward for UK drivers,” said Martin Symes, EV Director at Motor Fuel Group. “Our partnership brings Plug&Charge capability to approximately 2,000 rapid and ultra‑rapid charge points across the UK.”
The Plug&Charge integration connects MFG EV Power to Hubject’s interoperability platform, enabling secure vehicle‑based authentication and real‑time billing across the network.
MFG operates more than 1,200 forecourt locations nationwide and has expanded its footprint in recent years, including the acquisition of 337 Morrisons petrol stations in 2024. The growing network provides a foundation for scaling EV charging infrastructure alongside traditional fuel operations.
