MFG EV Power reaches 1,000 ultra-rapid charging bays in the UK
Milestone marks four years of rapid growth and underscores MFG’s leadership in the EV charging sector.
Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, has reached a major milestone with the installation of over 1,000 ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging bays across its network as of July 2025.
This achievement comes just four years after MFG launched its EV Power division and signals the company’s growing role in the UK’s transition to cleaner transport. Its 1,000th ultra-rapid charging bay is part of a broader strategy to build a truly nationwide EV charging network, open to all vehicle types and designed to meet the needs of both urban drivers and long-haul travelers.
“When we launched our EV roll-out in March 2021, we committed to investing ahead of the curve in ultra-rapid chargers. Not only are we rolling-out chargers at a rapid pace, we are also ensuring that the customer experience is of the highest quality both through the ease of use of our chargers but also through the upgrade of our adjacent convenience retail, food service and vehicle valeting offer – investing £170m in 2025 alone," said William Bannister, CEO of MFG.
With 170 charging hubs already in operation and more than 20 new bays being installed each week, the company’s momentum continues to accelerate.
This rollout includes major developments at Morrisons supermarket locations, where MFG is actively deploying charging infrastructure following its acquisition of over 330 Morrisons forecourts and hundreds of associated development plots.
