New Zealand: BP launches in-car payment app
BP has launched a new mobile payment app for New Zealand that allows drivers to pay for fuel from inside their cars.
Following a worldwide trend towards mobile payments, BP is the latest fuel retailer to launch a payment app that seeks to make fuelling up more convenient and efficient.
The app, known as ‘BPMe’, will make “customer experience at BP a whole lot better,” according to BP General Manager of Fuels and Marketing Debi Boffa.
“BPMe will make things much faster by removing congestion outside at the pump and inside at the register…you don’t even need to reach for your wallet,” she says.
The app also has customer memory, allowing users to tailor the services to their needs. Drivers will be able to set their preferred quantity and type of fuel.
“The options are endless for this new technology and we are excited to bring this brand new digital offer to the New Zealand market first,” added Boffa.
BPMe will be available from the App Store and Google Play Store on Monday 25 July.
