OKQ8 strengthens fuel supply in Sweden with Wibax storage partnership
The move is part of a broader OKQ8 strategy to develop more flexible and resilient fuel logistics across Sweden.
OKQ8 has entered into a fuel storage agreement with Wibax Group at its depot in Skellefteå, bolstering the Swedish fuel retailer's logistics network and supply resilience in northern Sweden.
Under the partnership, OKQ8 gains access to two storage tanks at Wibax's Skellefteå terminal, allowing it to hold fuel closer to customers who collect directly from depots in the region. The arrangement shortens transport distances, improves distribution efficiency and strengthens local supply capacity in an area where reliable fuel access is a longstanding operational priority. The partnership was inaugurated at the Skellefteå site on September 24.
"This is about getting closer to our customers while building a more robust fuel supply," said Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8. "By ensuring high availability and strengthening our local supply capability, we can offer a safe and stable access to fuel — which is especially important in a rapidly changing energy market."
The move is part of a broader OKQ8 strategy to develop more flexible and resilient fuel logistics across Sweden, with particular focus on the north of the country. Wibax, which operates terminal infrastructure across Sweden, Finland and Estonia, brings an established network that OKQ8 can leverage for last-mile distribution in the region.
"Our collaboration with OKQ8 shows how our infrastructure can contribute to greater availability, shorter transport routes and a more robust supply chain in northern Sweden," said Jonas Wiklund, CEO of Wibax Group.
