Oryx Energies grows retail network in Uganda
The company has acquired seven new service stations previously operating under the BAJ Service Station brand.
Oryx Energies Uganda is consolidating its expansion in the country through the acquisition of seven sites previously operated under the BAJ Service Station brand.
The deal will increase the company’s local retail network and bring it closer to its customers in the locations of Entebbe, Kyanja, Bweyale, Mubende, Kisoro and Kabale. These sites will be rebranded as Oryx locations and will deliver the full range of products and services offered by the company’s existing network in the country.
"We are excited at this development, which underlines our strong commitment to the Ugandan market and forms part of a yet wider strategic expansion slated to occur in the coming two years," said Michael Nduhuukire, Managing Director of Oryx Energies Uganda Limited.
Oryx Energies has been present in Uganda since November 2012, when it acquired Engen Uganda as part of the planned expansion of its integrated downstream energy platform across sub-Saharan Africa.
The company provides fuels, LPG and lubricants to businesses and consumers across Uganda, both directly through its service stations and indirectly via a network of bulk and retail distributors.
