Osprey opens Scotland’s largest EV charging hub

The hub features 16 high-powered 300kW charge points, opens around the clock and supports a range of users.

Osprey Charging has officially opened a new ultra-rapid EV charging hub in Paisley, near Glasgow Airport. The site, now the largest 24/7 public EV charging hub in the country, was inaugurated on Tuesday 29 July by Cabinet Secretary for Transport Fiona Hyslop.

The hub features 16 high-powered 300kW charge points, opens around the clock and supports a range of users including private drivers, taxi services, and fleet operators.

The layout includes pedestrian walkways, space-efficient charge points, and two PAS1899-compliant bays. Its proximity to popular amenities such as McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, and Showcase Cinema enhances convenience.

Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, praised the hub as a key example of the role private investment can play in accelerating Scotland’s EV transition.

“I’m delighted to open Osprey’s new ultra-rapid charging hub near Glasgow Airport — now the largest 24/7 public electric vehicle charging site in Scotland. Not only is this sort of private sector investment exactly what we need to see to support our vision for public EV charging, it’s in a prime location offering high-powered EV charging to fleets, taxis and everyday drivers travelling around Glasgow and to and from the airport,” she said.

Each of the hub’s chargers is compatible with every EV on the market and supports simple contactless payment via bank cards and mobile wallets. The new Paisley hub adds to Osprey’s growing presence in Scotland, where it already operates over 130 rapid and ultra-rapid charge points.
