OXXO GAS joins Mexico’s national environmental audit program
The company receives four environmental quality certificates after voluntarily adding 20 stations to the PNAA.
OXXO GAS has become one of the first fuel groups in Mexico to voluntarily align with the National Environmental Audit Program (PNAA), led by SEMARNAT and ASEA. As part of this initiative, the company incorporated 20 service stations into the program, which requires technical audits, reinforced compliance, and continuous environmental improvements.
Following this process, OXXO GAS received four Environmental Quality Certificates for its first evaluated stations, marking a milestone in the sector.
The PNAA is considered one of the country’s most robust self-regulation tools, demanding specialized audits, action plans, and independent verification to assess resource efficiency and risk reduction. OXXO’s participation sends a strong message to an energy sector traditionally behind in voluntary audit practices.

The addition of 20 stations reflects collaboration between OXXO GAS operational teams, external auditors, and ASEA, creating a management model focused on continuous improvement, process efficiency, and environmental protection in local communities.
OXXO GAS plans to expand its participation in the PNAA and develop initiatives to strengthen operational safety, reduce environmental impacts, and support Mexico’s sustainability goals.
