Petrolimex launches first EV charging services at stations in Vietnam
The fuel retailer aims to develop a charging network to support e-mobility in the next 5 years through a partnership with VinFast.
The Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and VinFast Commercial and Services Trading have officially launched the first electric vehicle (EV) charging services of the fuel retail brand. The equipment has been deployed at 10 service stations of the company located in the North, Central and South regions of the country.
The first locations selected to host the EV charging services are in primary locations and easily accessible to vehicles from national and provincial highways. This aims to support EV drivers throughout the country with complete satisfaction.
The implementation of VinFast services in Petrolimex stations is part of a cooperation agreement that the two sides signed back in June. Accordingly, more than 500 charging stations of the supplier company will be installed in the retailer’s forecourts nationwide in the 2022-2023 period.
“The cooperation is also an important step in the process of transforming Petrolimex’s petrol stations into a smart and modern model, fully integrated with utilities to bring more benefits for consumers and community,” said Nguyen Sy Cuong, Deputy General Director of Petrolimex.
In the next phase, the two sides are expected to study appropriate locations to expand the network of charging services, meeting the demands of customers and serving the mutual development orientations.
As planned, 60kW, 150kW and 300kW rapid charging cylinders meeting CCS2 standards are available at Petrolimex’s stations. This will help in satisfying the diverse needs of customers, as all VinFast charging stations meet European security standards ISO-15118 and IEC 61851.
