Vietnam: Petrolimex partners with VinFast to expand services
Electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is partnering with Vietnamese retailers to add a wide range of services to the national network of gas stations.
Vietnamese carmaker VinFast and the Việt Nam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) signed last Thursday a cooperation agreement to build a service chain for all VinFast products.
Under the agreement, Petrolimex gas stations will host a wide range of services for VinFast including electric vehicles charging and maintenance of vehicles.
The two companies will also invest in roadside rest stations on main roads and convenience stores to serve VinFast's products and other general means.In addition, Vingroup and Petrolimex will cooperate in the field of non-cash payments, using co-branded payment instruments VinID and Petrolimex.
On October 25, VinFast also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam Oil Corporation (PV Oil) on implementing charging stations and leasing batteries for electric vehicles.
In just 14 days, VinFast has cooperated with two leading petroleum retailers in Vietnam, with a total of about 3,600 petrol stations and 7,000 dealers in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. By 2020, VinFast plans to deploy 30,000 to 50,000 charging points and battery rental stations for electric vehicles across the country.
