PowerGo launches new fast-charging hub in Belgium
New site offers flexible, sustainable EV charging next to Antwerp’s A12 highway.
PowerGo has opened a new public fast-charging hub at the Basic-Fit Ekeren gym in Antwerp, Belgium, expanding convenient charging options for electric vehicle (EV) drivers in a key location next to the A12 highway.
The site features two 150 kW fast chargers and five 30 kW chargers, providing flexible charging solutions for both gym members and drivers passing through. The new installation is part of an ongoing partnership between PowerGo and Basic-Fit, launched in 2023, to deploy fast-charging infrastructure at gym locations across the Netherlands and Belgium.
“We want to support our members in their fitness goals, but also in practical ways,” said Gerard van Medevoort, International Energy Manager at Basic-Fit. “At this new charging hub, they can charge their electric vehicles quickly and efficiently while working out.”
According to Emiel Boudenoodt, Project Manager at PowerGo, the hub is designed to serve a wide range of needs. “Whether someone makes a quick stop or spends more time at the gym, this charging hub is accessible and efficient for everyone. By combining different types of chargers, we can meet the diverse charging needs of EV drivers.”
The company offers dynamic pricing based on hourly electricity rates, encouraging charging when renewable energy is most abundant.
PowerGo also sources solar energy from solar parks operated by its parent company, PowerField, further strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility.
