PTT’s retail arm to launch budget hotel project after years of delay

The hotel will be located at a PTT petrol station, and feature a Café Amazon, Ottari laundry service, and a 7-Eleven store.

PTT Oil and Retail Business Plc (OR) is set to finalize plans for its long-delayed budget hotel project next month, according to senior finance executive Wilaiwan Kanjanakanti. The development, first proposed in 2016, will see a hotel built within a PTT petrol station, targeting travelers seeking affordable accommodation, reports the Bangkok Post.

The company has completed a feasibility study and secured board approval. Strategic partners are expected to be announced in the fourth quarter, with construction scheduled for early next year. The hotel, featuring 70–80 rooms, is slated to open by late 2026 and will include a Café Amazon, Ottari laundry service, and a 7-Eleven convenience store.

The project was previously shelved over legal concerns and later delayed by the pandemic. OR says safety and service standards will be central to the design.

OR operates more than 1,700 petrol stations nationwide, alongside a growing non-oil business that includes Café Amazon coffee shops and convenience stores. The company has positioned itself as a key player in Thailand’s energy and retail sectors, leveraging its network to diversify into hospitality and other services.
