Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (Q8) has secured an operator license in Portugal, marking a significant milestone in its European growth strategy and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Iberian energy market.

The new accreditation enables the company to broaden its reach to new customers, adapt more flexibly to regional energy needs, and strengthen its brand presence across multiple markets. It also opens the door to new international partnerships.

With a network of nearly 200 sites, including company-owned retail stations, IDS sites for heavy-duty transport, and partner-branded locations, Kuwait Petroleum already plays an active role in the mobility ecosystem of Spain and Portugal. The company employs over 300 people across the region and reports an annual turnover close to $1.5 billion.

Looking ahead, Kuwait Petroleum plans to scale up its service station offering and expand in key areas such as direct fuel supply, lubricants, aviation fuel, and its Tarjetísima Premium Q8 loyalty program.
