Service station: a multi-energy and multi-service hub
Ad
In an oversaturated market, the services offered by service stations are becoming increasingly relevant and important in terms of differentiation and economic growth. From the service station, where the sole objective has always been the distribution of traditional fuels, a transition is taking place to a “multi-energy” and “multi-service” station in which fuel is only one of several offers on the site. The service station thus becomes a 'mobility center' in which oil, car washes, shops, EV recharging stations, car parks, advertising, payment and goods collection points converge. In this evolution towards a new business model, it’s essential to review the way of organizing and managing the operations of the station.
Since its foundation, Fortech has pursued the mission of converting traditional petrol stations into smartStations adapted to embrace changes into market consumption.
With this goal always in mind, the company has invested heavily in developing solutions to enable service station operators to count on simple, reliable and user-friendly monitoring and maintenance systems and to guarantee a quality user experience to the final customer. Some examples of this are the new super-compact terminal for EV recharging management, OPTcompact, and the integration of advanced forms of payment such as Satispay, already present in several European countries.
Mini size, maxi functionality
OPTcompact is the revolutionary compact terminal for managing EV recharge points and parking. Recently launched at the most important exhibition in Italy, OPTcompact was immediately appreciated for its features:
- Cashless payments: thanks to the magnetic stripe and chip reader, also NFC contactless and QR code reader, OPTcompact enables all different types of cashless payments.
- Excellent user experience: specially designed graphical user interfaces allow optimal use directly from the high-resolution 5'' display.
- Traditional refueling management: from the second part of 2023 it will be possible to use OPTcompact for the refueling of all traditional fuels.
- Android based: the Android management system allows flexible integration with other devices on the forecourt.
- Attractive cost: thanks to its reduced size, it has a very affordable price compared to a traditional stand-alone OPT.
Fuel payments with Satispay
In order to make service stations even smarter and more efficient, Fortech has activated the integration between the Satispay mobile payment app and self-service payment terminals.
A partnership that brought the newest and smoothest Satispay user experience to many petrol stations. Thanks to this collaboration, service stations with Fortech terminals will be able to accept payments sent by customers via Satispay App, which, due to its independence from the traditional circuits on which the payment super network model is based, drastically reduces transaction costs compared to those made by traditional financial cards.
The new payment solution offers a safe, simple and fast service: to pay for refuel on the outdoor payment terminal or inside of the kiosk, simply open the app, scan the QR code to enable payment of the pre-authorised amount and then select the dispenser you choose to use for refueling. At the end of the operation, a digital receipt is issued directly on the app.
The application, already used in Italy by more than 3 million final users and 205k merchants, is also spreading very fast in Europe, starting from Germany and Benelux, with the aim of spreading to other countries.
