Shell, Oman Automobile Association partner to enhance mobility

Partnership seeks to contribute to local decarbonization efforts as well as developing the country’s first EV charging hub and expanding its fuel retail network.

Shell Oman Marketing Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oman Automobile Association (OAA) to expand operations across the country.

Collaboration opportunities include access to EV charging, quality fuels and non-fuel retail products and services, development of new service stations, CSR initiatives and supporting OAA’s events and motorsport programs. The partnership is meant to support road safety, environmental initiatives while contributing to the national economy through tourism, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

The partnership will offer OAA visitors and members with the country’s first of its kind Electric Vehicles (EV) charging hub, as well as the first smart service station.

“Our strategic partnership with OAA underscores our shared dedication to enhancing customer experiences and convenience especially for motorsports enthusiasts. This collaboration also marks the commencement of an exciting new chapter with a focus on establishing an EV hub for the first time in Oman,” said Mohammed Al Balushi, CEO of Shell Oman.

In addition to infrastructure development, Shell Oman and OAA will collaborate on decarbonization initiatives. This collaboration will leverage the mobility company's expertise in world-class fuels, lubricants, and digital fleet management tools.
