Shell to install 30 EV chargers in Argentina

The company will roll out the chargers through its local licensee Raízen in partnership with Audi and Volkswagen.

Raízen announced the roll out of 30 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Shell’s fuel retail network in Argentina. This deployment is part of the company’s partnership with Audi Argentina and Volkswagen Group Argentina to optimize the development of e-mobility throughout the country.

The announcement was made at the inauguration of Shell Recharge’s first ultra-fast charger in the country. Equipped with a charging power of 160 kW, the equipment is located at a service station in the city of Chascomús and can fully charge a vehicle in 20 minutes.

"We are a brand that has been growing, expanding and adapting its offer in recent years. With new stations, renovated stores, more services, Shell BOX and Shell Recharge as an e-mobility solution that is undoubtedly part of this growth, because it expands, complements and strengthens our value proposition alongside the evolution of those who choose us every day," said Andrés Cavallari, Retail Director of Raízen Argentina, according to a news report by local news site Surtidores.

The companies aim to install over 30 chargers of both 150 kW and 50 kW of power in the mid to long-term. The equipment is set to be deployed throughout Shell service stations located at the country's main corridors.
