Raízen establishes Brazil’s first Shell Recharge station for fast charging
The new site is equipped with two 50kW and 150kW chargers for 35 minute recharging and is located in the cit of São Paulo.
Raízen inaugurated the first of its 35 planned EV fast-charging stations in Brazil. The operator of the brand in the country has unveiled its first Shell Recharge location as part of its “Electromobility Program” for the Southeast region. The initial site is located in the Limão area of the city of São Paulo and is equipped with 50kW and 150kW chargers, which allow for recharging in only 35 minutes.
"The arrival of Shell Recharge will accelerate the development of electromobility in the country while offering a unique, innovative and sustainable experience for our customers, who will be able to take smoother trips with the support of an electric recharging network at Shell gas stations," said Frederico Saliba, Vice President of Energy and Renewables for Raízen.
According to a report by local news site Estadão, the stations that will be part of the Shell Recharge program have been chosen due to being near high-traffic roads and their connections to highways. In addition, they will also be built with a Shell Select convenience store to offer customers a wide variety of services and comfort. Drivers who want to recharge their EVs can also pay using their credit cards via the Tupinambá app.
This program is part of the environmental initiatives the company is undertaking to accompany the energy transition. These include supplying clean energy to more than 500 Shell service stations through distributed generation, which not only reduces harmful emissions but also lowers overall energy costs by 20%.
