SMP adds Telepass app payments across fuel station network

New partnership enables smartphone-based fuel payments at 32 service stations, with plans to expand the service across the network.

San Marco Petroli (SMP) has introduced fuel payments through the Telepass app at 32 service stations across its network, marking the latest step in the company's digitalization strategy for fuel retail operations in Italy.

The new partnership allows Telepass users to pay for fuel directly from their smartphones without using cash or payment cards. Customers can complete a transaction by selecting the SMP station and pump within the app before confirming payment.

According to SMP, the service will be progressively rolled out to additional locations, extending access to digital payment options across more of its retail network.

The retailer noted that enabling fuel payments through the Telepass app makes the refueling process faster and more convenient for drivers while supporting the development of a more accessible and digitally connected service station network.

The rollout targets private motorists, professionals and business customers, reinforcing SMP's focus on combining fuel retail services with digital tools designed to improve the customer experience.
