SPAR Netherlands partners with Bakerstreet to expand foodservice
Retailer taps specialist expertise to strengthen ready‑to‑eat offer in local and city stores.
SPAR Netherlands has entered into a strategic partnership with foodservice specialist Bakerstreet to further professionalize and expand its foodservice offering across neighbourhood and city stores.
Foodservice has become a central pillar of SPAR Netherlands’ convenience strategy, driven by growing demand for high‑quality, ready‑to‑eat meals, particularly among younger shoppers and in urban locations. The partnership is designed to support independent retailers by enhancing product range, operational efficiency, and consistency at store level.
Under the agreement, Bakerstreet will support SPAR Netherlands with foodservice category management and product development. The work will focus on improving in‑store execution, including smarter baking schedules, better availability of fresh products throughout the day, and more efficient operating processes. Training and hands‑on support will also be provided to store teams to help ensure consistent performance across the network.
“As the Netherlands’ favourite convenience store, we want to be the best in foodservice. With a specialised partner, we can accelerate our progress, innovate, and improve the quality and relevance of our offering,” said Chantal de Rijk‑Bex, Commercial Director of SPAR Netherlands.
The partnership aims to deliver more consistent food quality and availability for customers, while also helping retailers reduce waste and improve profitability through more data‑driven and streamlined processes.
