Tata.ev and Shell to roll out 21 new Mega Charging Hubs in India
Partnership expands high‑speed EV charging across major metro areas and key highway corridors.
Tata.ev, the e-mobility arm of Tata Motors, has partnered with Shell to expand India’s fast‑charging infrastructure with 21 new Mega Charging Hubs planned across major cities and strategic transport routes. The initiative aims to improve long‑distance and urban charging access as electric vehicle (EV) adoption accelerates nationwide.
The new hubs will be built across western and southern India, including sites in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Each location will be equipped with 120 kW fast chargers, enabling compatible vehicles to charge from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes, supporting both private EV owners and commercial operators.
Bengaluru will see the largest cluster of new hubs, with nine sites spread across key mobility corridors. Chennai will receive five hubs, while additional locations are planned along the Mangalore–Mysuru corridor, in the city of Vadodara, and across Pune’s fast‑growing suburban zones. These additions are designed to strengthen the availability of high‑speed charging on major commuter and intercity routes.
The hubs will include on‑site personnel to support customers during charging sessions and will offer access to Shell Select and Deli2go retail outlets. Tata EV drivers will also receive discounts of up to 25% on charging tariffs, along with special offers on food and beverages.
With these 21 new sites, Tata.ev’s Mega Charger network will expand to 130 hubs nationwide. The company plans to scale the network to 500 locations by 2027, targeting more than 400,000 individual charging points as part of its broader electrification strategy.
