How the PTS-2 Automatic Tank Calibration System Works
Installation and configuration of the PTS-2 Smart forecourt controller typically take about 3 hours, and no additional system integration is required.
Once active, the controller continuously communicates with fuel dispensers and automatic tank gauges inside the tanks. As the tank shape changes due to operational factors like temperature or pressure, the system automatically recalculates interval capacities and updates the calibration chart in real time.
These dynamic calibration charts ensure precise fuel volume measurement, accurate delivery registration, and temperature-compensated volume adjustments.
The system supports over 200 brands of dispensers and ATG probes, making it highly adaptable to any existing forecourt setups.
How Accurate Are Automatically Calibrated Tank Charts?
The accuracy of automatically calibrated tank charts depends on the precision of both the fuel dispensers and the ATG probes. Most dispensers measure fuel with an error margin of ±0.25% to ±0.5%, while level measurement systems determine the liquid level with an accuracy of ±1 mm.
The PTS-2 controller uses data from both sources to continuously update the calibration chart, ensuring reliable volume measurements and effective fuel management.
To ensure proper operation of the PTS-2 controller’s auto-calibration function, the tank must undergo at least 3 - 4 complete fill-and-empty cycles during regular use. When this condition is met, the final error margin of the automatically generated calibration table does not exceed ±0.5%.
