TotalEnergies compra el negocio europeo de renovables terrestres de Shell
La cartera renovable de TotalEnergies en Europa alcanza cerca de 10 GW de capacidad instalada o en construcción, con otros 27 GW en desarrollo.
TotalEnergies has signed an agreement to acquire Shell's entire European onshore renewables business, comprising 500MW of solar and wind assets in operation or under construction, mainly in Italy and the Netherlands, plus a 3.5GW pipeline of solar, wind, and battery storage projects in Italy, the UK, and Spain.
"The acquisition of Shell's European onshore renewable assets strengthens our power generation positions in key deregulated markets in Europe," said Stéphane Michel, senior vice president Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies.
The deal, expected to close by the end of 2026 subject to regulatory approval, will see TotalEnergies hold the portfolio outright, complementing its Integrated Power strategy and its TTEP joint venture with EPH for flexible gas-fired power in Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK. TotalEnergies' European renewables portfolio now totals close to 10GW of gross installed or under-construction capacity, with 27GW in development.
Separately, TotalEnergies has agreed to sell 50% of a 1.2GW portfolio of solar and onshore wind assets in Germany, Spain, France, and Poland to an insurance fund managed by KKR, for an enterprise value of €1.8 billion.
"With this agreement with KKR, we once again demonstrate our ability to execute our renewables business model," Michel added.
TotalEnergies will retain a 50% stake and continue operating the assets, with completion expected in 2026.
