UK: Element 2, BayoTech to develop hydrogen as transport fuel
Companies will collaborate on linking hydrogen production to end users. The partnership supports Element Two’s plans to deploy over 800 hydrogen stations in the UK by 2027.
Hydrogen players Element 2 and BayoTech signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on a number of projects linking hydrogen production to end users in the United Kingdom.
The collaboration with BayoTech supports Element Two’s plans to deploy more than 800 hydrogen filling points in the UK by 2027.
Initially focused on the commercial fleet transport industry, the collaboration aims at reducing hydrogen carbon intensity, the distance the gas is transported and the overall complexity of hydrogen as a transport fuel, according to a company’s press release.
The two companies are in the final stages of negotiation for a number of renewable hydrogen projects and have showed mutual interest in pursuing a further relationship to serve a wider number of projects across the UK and Europe.
Element 2 is a UK-based venture capital backed deployer of hydrogen refuelling stations and a retailer of hydrogen fuel to the consumer. BayoTech is an on-site hydrogen production company.
