S&G Stores LLC has completed the acquisition of 12 Barney’s Convenience Stores in an effort to expand its presence across the Midwest territory of the United States. 11 of the 12 stores purchased are branded bp while the remaining one is branded as an Amoco.

According to Dan Ridi, S&G Founder and CEO, Barney’s employees will maintain their positions and will operate the stores under the bp fuel brand. The chain currently employs approximately 100 people and its buyer is aiming to continue its growth across the region.

Barney’s, an Ohio-based company, started its business in 1966 as Big Barney Auto Wash and has evolved into Barney’s Convenience Stores. S&G, previously established in 1999 as Stop and Go Stores, is located in the same state as its purchased chain. Currently, the company has a total of 74 convenience stores across the Toledo and Dayton, Ohio, markets.
