Weigel’s has launched a new tier-based experience within its MyWeigel’s Rewards program, giving its more than 595,000 registered members access to additional benefits based on how often they visit the retailer’s stores.

Unlike traditional loyalty programs that primarily reward spending, the new structure is tied to monthly visit frequency. Members progress through four levels, Fan, AllStar, VIP and MVP, unlocking benefits such as free beverages, fuel discounts, bonus points and food rewards as they reach higher tiers.

“Points and discounts provide meaningful value, but they do not tell the entire story of loyalty,” said Jessica Starnes, Director of Loyalty at Weigel’s. “Some of our guests stop by every morning for coffee, visit us on their way home or bring their families in every week. Tiers allow us to recognize that consistency and show our guests that we see and appreciate the relationship they have built with us.”

The program allows members to track their current tier, monthly visit count and progress toward the next level through the MyWeigel’s Rewards app. Because advancement is based on visits rather than transaction value, each qualifying trip contributes equally regardless of purchase size.

The retailer also plans to expand the program with collectible digital badges that recognize participation in promotions, seasonal campaigns and product launches. The initiative builds on existing app features such as personalized offers, mobile ordering, fuel savings, loyalty points and gamified experiences.

According to Weigel’s, the new visit-based structure is supported by PDI’s tier technology and forms part of a broader strategy to create a more personalized and engagement-focused digital loyalty ecosystem.
