Z Energy backs EV shift with new Honda charger partnership
Strategic alliance makes it easier for first-time EV buyers in New Zealand to transition to e-mobility.
Z Energy and Honda New Zealand have joined forces to support electric vehicle (EV) adoption across Aotearoa through a new strategic partnership aimed at easing the transition for first-time EV buyers.
The initiative coincides with the launch of Honda’s first fully electric vehicle in the country—the e:N1. As part of the agreement, customers purchasing a new e:N1 from official Honda stores or dealerships will be offered one of two exclusive benefits: a complimentary Evnex E2 Plus home EV charger with reduced installation costs, or a year’s worth of Z Rewards points and free hot drinks through the Z App.
Carolyn McMahon, Managing Director at Honda New Zealand, emphasized the importance of helping customers take the leap into electric mobility: “We believe many of our e:N1 customers will be first-time EV buyers. It’s important we make the process as seamless as possible, and our partnership with Z helps achieve that.”
Z Energy, one of the country’s largest transport energy providers, has been rapidly expanding its EV charging footprint, now offering 179 charging bays across 54 locations from Taipa to Queenstown. The company’s growing infrastructure provides fast and ultra-fast charging along key travel routes, often paired with convenient amenities like food, coffee, and essentials.
“Our collaboration with Honda is a great example of how businesses can work together to simplify the EV transition for everyday Kiwis,” said Lindis Jones, CEO of Z Energy.
Beyond supporting Honda’s customers, Z is also assisting the manufacturer internally by helping deploy workplace EV charging infrastructure across Honda’s retail and operational branches.
