AGRAVIS opens first Bio‑CNG truck fueling site in Münster

The new station at Industrieweg supports lower‑emission freight transport and regional biomethane use.

AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG has opened the first Bio‑CNG fueling site for trucks and commercial vehicles in Münster, marking a new addition to the region’s alternative fuels infrastructure. The Bio‑CNG pump has been added to the AGRAVIS Raiffeisen service station on Industrieweg and is aimed specifically at supporting regional freight and commercial transport.

The opening included an event where logistics companies, academic institutions and industry representatives joined to celebrate the inauguration, jointly organized with local economic development agencies. Discussions focused on the role of renewable fuels in reducing emissions and strengthening energy independence in goods transport.

“These fuel gases are an excellent example of a functioning circular economy,” said AGRAVIS board member Jan Heinecke, highlighting the company’s role not only as a fuel retailer but also as a producer of biomethane. AGRAVIS generates biomethane for the fuel market together with partners in Dorsten and Velen, using predominantly agricultural residues as feedstock.

The company emphasized that Bio‑CNG and Bio‑LNG are now produced from biomethane rather than fossil natural gas, reducing exposure to geopolitical price risks and improving the overall carbon balance of heavy‑duty transport.
