Zaid Alqufaidi (ENOC): “We’ve taken a giant leap compared to the other UEA distributors”

The chairman of ReFuelForum MENA 2026 shares how technology and customer‑focused innovation are driving the next phase of mobility in the region.

As chairman of ReFuelForum MENA 2026, Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail, highlighted a “very special” opening day shaped by discussions on advanced technologies, AI, and fast‑changing customer expectations. He praised the high engagement levels, noting that panelists shared “business cases a lot of people have benefited from,” alongside valuable showcases from technology vendors.

Alqufaidi emphasized ENOC’s strong retail leadership in the UAE, describing how the company has “moved to the next generation” of customer understanding by integrating fuel and non‑fuel services with data‑driven loyalty offerings. He noted the rise of smart forecourt technologies, including digital cameras and facial recognition, enabling ENOC to be increasingly proactive in its service approach.

Recent initiatives underscore this strategy, such as the rollout of Costa Coffee across ZOOM stores, designed to elevate convenience and enhance the customer experience across ENOC’s extensive network.

Other strategic moves further underscore ENOC’s ambition to redefine mobility and retail in the UAE. The company has partnered with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to expand the EV fast‑charging network across ENOC service stations. The retailers also broadened its YES Rewards ecosystem with a new Travel & Leisure category, transforming the app into a comprehensive platform where over one million members can book travel services and earn rewards seamlessly. In parallel, a major collaboration with Amazon UAE aims to modernize retail through rapid delivery, micro‑fulfilment hubs at ENOC sites, and potential deployment of Just Walk Out checkout‑free technology at ZOOM stores.
