7-Eleven denies mass rollout of cannabis-based products

Cannabidoil producer Phoenix Tears announced a deal with 7-Eleven on Tuesday through a press release.

U.S. retailer 7-Eleven has rubbished initial reports that claimed the company would start selling cannabidiol (CDB) oils in many of its stores.

A Tuesday press release from Phoenix Tears, a provider of hemp-based CBD products for consumers, announced it had entered a distribution agreement to introduce its products to hundreds of 7-Eleven stores across the United States.

Stephanie Shaw, director of communications for 7-Eleven, told HuffPost that the announcement was false.

“We have made no agreement or partnership with this company and do not know why they said that,” Shaw said.

According to the initial announcement, the products are slated to be carried by 4,500 7-Elevens by the end of the year. Phoenix Tears expects to reach over 7,000 stores over the next three years.
