$8 million grant for hydrogen fuel cell station awarded in California
California continues to expand its hydrogen fuelling facilities with private and public initiatives.
The California Energy Commission voted to approve an $8 million grant to develop a high-capacity hydrogen fuelling station to service and promote the expansion of zero-emission fuel cell electric Class 8 drayage trucks at the Port of Long Beach.
“Promoting the use of zero-emission vehicles will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution at the nation’s second busiest container port. The station will source hydrogen from 100 percent renewable biogas,” according to CEC.
The Energy Commission also approved a plan outlining actions that California can take to improve clean energy access in the low-income multifamily building sector.
