Aral has expanded its cooperation with FREENOW, the European mobility service app. Drivers of the platform are able to use the Fuel& Charge Card to refuel or charge at any service stations of the brand across Germany.

The partnership began last year exclusively in the city of Hamburg and now approximately 1,500 cab drivers who work with the service will receive the Aral Fuel & Charge Card. This is how both companies support the city's plan to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the mobility industry so that there are new cabs run only on electric drive or hydrogen from 2025.

According to the "Future Taxi" project, there are currently 418 electric and hydrogen cabs on Hamburg's roads, with almost 85% of vehicles provided by FREENOW. Hamburg aims to become the first federal state without combustion engine cabs.

"Aral has been a partner of numerous cab companies throughout Germany for many years. Together, we are promoting lower-emission mobility. Ride-hailing, i.e. passenger transportation via apps, and e-mobility are a particularly good match. FREENOW drivers should not miss out on the benefits of Aral and Aral pulse's ultra-fast charging network. The expansion to all FREENOW locations in Germany is now the logical step," said Alexander Junge, board member and responsible for e-mobility at Aral.

FREENOW is now available via app at around 90 locations nationwide. These include major metropolitan areas such as Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Cologne and the Ruhr region.
