Ascona Group extends five-year supply partnership with Co-op Wholesale
Deal covers all 62 forecourts across the UK with access to Co-op’s own-label range.
Independent forecourt retailer Ascona Group has signed a new five-year contract with Co-op Wholesale, strengthening a partnership first established in 2020.
Under the deal, Co-op Wholesale will continue to supply all 62 of Ascona’s sites nationwide with grocery products, including its own-label range. This partnership also supports community initiatives through the Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity, which has contributed £50,000 to local causes, reflecting its commitment to delivering social as well as economic value.

In recent years, Ascona has invested heavily in its network, including the £3 million redevelopment of Machynlleth Service Station in North Wales in 2023, its largest single investment in Wales to date. Expansion has also continued through acquisitions in East Yorkshire and East Sussex.
Paul Webster, Sales and Partnerships Director at Co-op Wholesale, described Ascona as “one of the standout growth stories in the forecourt sector” and welcomed the contract extension. Founded in 2011 by CEO Darren Briggs, the company has grown from just two sites in Pembrokeshire to become the UK’s seventh largest independent forecourt operator, now serving more than 300,000 customers weekly.
