Azerbaijan’s Socar opens new ‘neo-classical’ style main office in Batumi, Georgia
The Azeri state oil company, Socar, said in a statement issued May 18 that it has built and opened a new administrative office in the port of Batumi located in Georgia in the Black Sea which is recognizable because of its neoclassical construction style that seeks to blend with the local architecture.
The christening ceremony was held on May 18 and was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Socar President Rovnag Abdullayev, and the chief executive officer of Socar Energy Georgia Mahir Mammadov.
“The facade of the building, designed by the architect Rauf Khidirov, was constructed in the classic and the main elements were developed in the neoclassical style,” the statement said.
Batumi has a population of 154,100 and is an important commercial center in the region.
