Ballenoil reaches 200 station milestone in Spain
The brand has become the first company that only operates unmanned stations to reach such a network’s size in the country.
Ballenoil has established its 200th station in Spain. The company has become the unmanned gas station brand to reach a retail network of this magnitude in the country.
The company recently opened three new stations in Madrid, located in Alcalá de Henares, Pinto and Arganda del Rey. These latest openings are part of the company's ambitious expansion plan, which aims to reach a total of 230 outlets by 2023.
After this first step, the company seeks to open 90 new stations in the medium term, for which it has implemented an initial investment of 15 million euros. This strategy involves reinforcing its presence in communities where it is already present as well as operating points of sale in new areas.
"Due to this expansion, Ballenoil has experienced a growth in the number of employees, amounting to 305 workers. This increase has been thanks to the new gas stations and the expansion of the internal structure with the improvement of the telematic customer service and technical service, with the creation of the operation control center (Cecoex) equipped with the latest technology to make the resolution of incidents simpler and more efficient and thus offer a better experience to the consumer", the company assured the local media ABC.
This expansion is also intended to take advantage of the model’s recent growth at a national level. A few weeks ago, Spain's National Association of Automatic Service Stations (Aesae) reported a 49% increase in unmanned stations across the country since the pandemic.
