Bolivia’s consumption of diesel fuel increases 4.5% in first quarter, on year

The consumption of diesel fuel in the landlocked South American country of Bolivia was 4.5% higher in the first quarter of the year compared with the same period a year earlier, according to information available in the website of the country’s National Agency of Hydrocarbons which said it republished a report appeared in local daily El Día.

Consumption in the first quarter of the year reached 141 million liters, or an average daily consumption of 4.6 million liters.

Heavier diesel consumption by the agricultural industry contributed to the increase, the report said. More than half of the diesel consumed in Bolivia is imported.
