bp prepares for Christmas rush with holiday offerings in the UK

The company estimates it will sell 1.6 million hot drinks and 750,000 baked goods in the three weeks leading up to Christmas.

As the holiday season approaches, bp is gearing up to meet increased demand for fuel, EV charging, and festive shopping across its 300 UK company-owned stores. All locations will remain open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, ensuring convenience for travelers.

bp estimates it will sell 1.6 million hot drinks and 750,000 baked goods in the three weeks leading up to Christmas, with Christmas Eve expected to be the busiest day. EV charging demand is also set to rise, with bp forecasting delivery of 3.7 million kWh through its chargers during this period—enough to cook over 830,000 turkeys.

Popular seasonal items like pigs in blankets, mulled wine, and Christmas sweets are expected to sell quickly, while last-minute essentials such as wrapping paper and batteries will see sharp increases in demand. Battery sales alone are projected to rise 1,300% as customers prepare for the holiday.

“Christmas Eve is set to be our busiest day. Customers can recharge with a caffeine kick, pick up last-minute gifts, or grab forgotten items for Christmas dinner while also filling up or charging their vehicles,” Jo Hayward, bp’s Vice President of Mobility and Convenience Retail UK.

BPme Rewards customers will enjoy discounts on select holiday items, including spirits and wine.
