bp pulse to power ultra-fast charging at more than 30 Roadchef motorway sites
The deal also puts 12 bp-branded forecourts under Roadchef's operation.
UK motorway service operator Roadchef has signed an agreement with bp covering EV charging, fuels and convenience retail. From 2027, bp pulse ultra-fast chargers will be available at more than 30 Roadchef service areas on the UK's strategic road network.
"This agreement will enable bp to expand the rollout of bp pulse ultra-fast EV charging across our sites and support our commitment to deliver 1,000 charging bays by 2030," said Tim Gittins, Chief Executive of Roadchef.
Under the agreement, Roadchef will also operate 12 bp forecourts. Each site will keep supplying bp-branded fuels alongside bp's wild bean cafe food-to-go offer.
Jo Hayward, VP mobility and convenience retail UK at bp, said: "We're excited to be working with Roadchef building further on our already strong fuel supply relationship and bringing all our offers together to help give drivers what they want, when and where they want it on their journeys."
Gittins added that motorway service areas will be critical to expanding en-route charging as the UK shifts to zero-emission vehicles. He said bp brings the scale and delivery capability to help Roadchef "move faster, invest with confidence and make charging more accessible to drivers across our network."
Taking on the forecourts will also strengthen Roadchef's fuel and food offer for leisure and HGV drivers, giving the business the scale to meet rising demand for EV charging.
