Brazil’s ANP checks on floating stations in Amazon river; finds quality problems in some
The Brazilian state agency in charge of regulating fuel sales, the ANP, said that between March 2-6 it carried out in coordination with other state authorities including the navy an operation to check on floating fuel stations around the Amazon area of Manaus.
“During the days March 2-3 a total of 18 floating filling stations were intervened in an operation with resulted in the closing of eight points of pumps in two locations due to sales of fuel with quality problems,” the press release said as it provided details of the Operation Marina Azul.
On March 4 another eight floating filling stations were inspected resulting in the closing of two filling points that were dispensing less fuel than what they were supposed to while another was functioning without a permit, ANP added.
The authority also detected illegal reselling of LPG canisters.
