Brazil’s oil regulator inaugurates new, upgraded center for fuels analysis
Brazilian oil and fuels regulator, known as ANP for its Portuguese language acronym, said on June 9 that it has inaugurated new and upgraded installations for its Center of Technological Research and Analysis which is located in the country’s capital of Brasilia and where fuel quality analysis will now be carried out.
The works to build and upgrade also resulted in an expansion by 23% of the size of the laboratories area in addition to putting together a more modern administrative section. New instruments were needed to perform tests which are now part of quality monitory of fuels, lubricants and biofuels, the ANP said.
Besides quality monitoring, the center also registers new additives and fuel brands. It can analyze gasoline, ethanol, diesel, solvents, methanol and biodiesel, the ANP added.
