BreakTime takes over 23 Loaf 'N Jug stores from EG America
The stores are located in North Dakota and Montana, making the acquisition part of the retailer’s expansion northward.
BreakTime Corner Market (BTCM) will acquire 23 Loaf 'N Jug stores located in North Dakota and Montana from EG America
According to a report by Grand Forks Herald, two Loaf sites in Grand Forks are set to be under new ownership by mid-June. The retail network acquired consists of 14 locations in North Dakota and nine shops in Montana.
Apart from the rebranding, the company expects to expand its product offering but maintain the stores’ interior layout. As Bret Sullivan, regional operations director at BTCM and transaction supervisor, explained to the website, the chain is looking for locally-made products to offer them at BreakTime outlets.
“They’re older stores, but they are in pretty good shape. That’s kind of the niche we’ve been working in the last few years,” said Sullivan.
The stores will keep all employees and rebranding will start once the deal is completed, approximately by the end of June. Although the take over was set to be finished by early May, it got delayed due to the undisclosed price of the transaction.
BTCM currently operates stores in Kansas and Colorado, expanding into two new states northward through this acquisition.
